Boilers

Heating and hot water boilers are mostly used in local or district heating systems or in industry. Based on current technology, these are usually three-pass boilers, often with an integrated flue gas heat exchanger. Integrated condensing heat exchangers are also commonly found, particularly in boiler systems.

Bosch three-pass boilers are characterised by a significantly smaller water capacity, enabling rapid heating from a cold start and high operational responsiveness. In the field of electric heating and hot water boilers, designs based on the instantaneous water heater principle have become the norm. Water-tube boilers are generally only found in high-capacity applications, up to the three-digit megawatt range, and are fuelled by solid fuels such as waste, coal or so-called biomass – often requiring downstream flue gas cleaning technology due to the higher emissions.
