Increased electrical efficiency

The lower volume flow required has a particular impact on the electrical energy used to operate the boiler circuit pump when frequency-controlled pumps are used.

Speed control of the centrifugal pumps reduces the electrical output by approximately to the power of three.

The power input of a pump is calculated as follows:

Since the hydraulic resistance (discharge head) in pipes changes quadratically with the volume, the required power changes cubically with the volume flow.

The same savings potential applies to the network circuit pumps, whereby the savings in electrical energy are significantly higher, as the discharge heads in the network are considerably greater.
